August 12, 1930 ~ November 14, 2015
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Relia "Dawne" Edling Thomsen. Fighting thyroid cancer for over a decade, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother succumbed to lung cancer in Logan, Utah at 1:05 a.m. on November 14, 2015 at age 85.

She will be greatly missed by her devoted husband, Blaine Clarkson Thomsen; and her five children: Ed (Hannah) Thomsen, Maren (Michael) Froerer, Marianne Thomsen (Sally Nicolai), Karl "Casey" Thomsen, John (Robert) Pisano-Thomsen. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren: Renee, Samuel, Matthew, Daniel, Esther, Kenneth, James, Dakota, William and Scarlett, wish her well on her new journey and will miss playing games with her.

She was beloved daughter of Wilford Gustaf Edling and Relia Mae Schade Edling. She is survived by sister, Deslyn Triplett Grant. She is predeceased by brother, Duane Edling.

Dawne was born in Los Angeles, California, August 12, 1930. She credited her successful upbringing to her mother, her Aunt Melva and her Uncle Ken. She was a Physical Education graduate of the University of Utah and had a passion for sports, hiking, travelling abroad and delving into spirituality and global philosophies. Before retiring to Haines, Alaska, Dawne was a restauranteur and credit union vice president.

A living memorial for the family was held on November 7, 2015, in lieu of a funeral at Dawne's request. Family and friends may send cards and condolences to Blaine E. Thomsen c/o 13801 North Mountain Home Road, Cove, UT 84320.

The family wishes to thank hospice care nurse, Dianne Crockett; and social worker, Carla Carlson, of Access Hospice - Utah; and daughter-in-law, Hannah for their invaluable support and care at the end of Dawne's life.
