Deceased Name: Jeanne Thomsen Hanks, CA United States. Jeanne Thomsen
Hanks passed away on June 27, 2010, at the age of 78. She will be
mourned by her husband, Dale Hanks, whom she married in St. George, Utah
over 57 years ago, and their eight surviving children: Donald, Kenneth,
Ernest, Anita, Heidi, Carmen, Laura and David. Another daughter, Nancy,
died as an infant. Family was her passion, and raising eight children
to adulthood is no small accomplishment. She was each one of her
children's greatest fan and had the uncanny ability of making each one
think that he or she just might be her favorite. Her children are
fortunate to have been raised by such a warm, loving, supportive and
available mother and will miss her dearly. Her sister, Carol Gardiner
and brother, Blaine Thomsen are also saddened by the loss of their
sister, as are extended family and friends all over.
Preceded in
death by her sister, Gayle Blackmer, Jeanne was adored by Gayle's 10
children and they considered "Aunt Nene" their second mother.
Twenty-four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren will miss her
"Granny hugs" and endless supply of popsicles, ice cream and other
treats.
Jeanne went to great lengths to make her home a welcome place
for children and "Granny's house" was a favorite destination for
everyone. Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-Day Saints on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at 5845
Crestridge Rd., Rancho Palos Verdes, where she was an active member.
Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes.
