She had great respect for all living things, and as an avid animal lover, she played a valuable part in the establishment and growth of the Utah Branch, Humane Society of Utah (now the Utah Humane Society). They always had dogs living with them at their wooded estate. She also enjoyed baseball (from her early days), and was a New York Yankee fan, and also the Salt Lake Bees.
